On the afternoon of 24 Aug, Ambassador Xiao Qian attended the “Ambassador Talks with Scientist” hosted by LIPI and delivered a keynote speech on life in the time of New Normal. Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, Chairman of LIPI attended the event and delivered remarks. Mrs. Nur Tri Aries, Executive Secretary of LIPI and Mr. Yi Fanping, Science Counselor at the Embassy and more than 200 Scientists from around 150 research institutions, universities and government institutions across Indonesia attended the event.

Ambassador Xiao introduced China-Indonesia cooperation especially technological and vaccine cooperation in fighting the pandemic and comprehensively shared China’s concrete practices in coping with New Normal with PPT. He patiently answered questions raised by Indonesian scientists present.

Chairman Handoko spoke highly the progress of China-Indonesia cooperation in fighting the pandemic. He introduced the concrete measures taken by LIPI to cope with the New Normal and the anti-epidemic research progress. He hoped to further strengthen scientific and technological cooperation with China in the future.
