On May 23, Ambassador Lu Kang met with new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia H.E. Jayanath Colombage. The two sides had a friendly exchange of views on China-Sri Lanka relations.

Ambassador Lu Kang welcomed Ambassador Jayanath Colombage to his new post and expressed that China and Sri Lanka has a longstanding history, and the two countries are jointly promoting the ‘Belt and Road’ construction and have  produced fruitful results. China will continue to work together with Sri Lanka to comprehensively deepen cooperation, meet challenges, share opportunities and develop together.

Ambassador Jayanath Colombage spoke highly of the concrete benefits brought by the‘Belt and Road’initiative to Sri Lanka's economic and social development. He said that as a traditionally friendly neighbor, Sri Lanka look forward to continuing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields to better benefit the two peoples.
