On the evening of October 12 2024, Wang Lutong, Ambassador-designate of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia arrived in Indonesia, and gave his remarks upon arrival at the airport.
Ambassador-designate Wang said, it is a great honor to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the 14th Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia, a beautiful country of thousands of islands, is a key member of ASEAN and the birthplace of the Bandung Spirit. China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners. Under the strategic guidance of our two Presidents, China-Indonesia relations operate at a high level. The building of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future has entered a new phase of tangible outcomes. Political mutual trust between our two countries is deepening. Practical cooperation is delivering fruitful results. People-to-people exchanges are increasingly vibrant. As two major developing countries and emerging markets, we share similar positions in international and regional affairs, and work together to inject stability and positive energy into the world. We will continue to support each other and work hand in hand on the paths towards modernization and national rejuvenation, and guide the long-term, steady growth of our bilateral relations with the building of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future.
Ambassador-designate Wang said, the year 2025 marks the 75th Anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic ties, and the 70th Anniversary of the Asian-African Conference. As the world undergoes changes unseen in a century at a faster pace, stronger cooperation between China and Indonesia, while serving the shared interests of both nations, will make new contributions to global peace, stability, development, and prosperity. At such a critical moment, it is my honor to assume the role of Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, coming with it both a glorious mission and heavy responsibilities. I will faithfully carry out my duties, do my best to deepen our friendship, strengthen our cooperation, and protect our peoples' shared interests, and strive to write a new chapter in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Indonesia.
Upon arrival at Jakarta, Ambassador-designate Wang was welcomed by Minister Zhou Kan and other principal Embassy officials, Chargé d'Affaires Fu Fengshan of the China Mission to ASEAN, and Minister Counselor Murdi of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.
