Chinese naval training ship Po Lang, which is on the internship visit mission in far seas, arrived in the Port of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Indonesia on the morning of September 22, beginning its three-day goodwill visit there. The Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and the Indonesian Navy held a warm welcome ceremony for the arrival of the ship. Nearly 150 people attended the ceremony, including Chargé d'affaires Zhou Kan, Defense Attaché Sen. Col. Xu Sheng, leaders of the Indonesian Navy’s Third Base and the Military Sealift Command, and representatives from the Indonesian Navy.
During the visit, the mission commander will pay a courtesy call on the Indonesian Navy Headquarters. The ship will be open for visits and deck receptions will be held on board. Representatives of the visiting officers and cadets will visit the military facilities of the Indonesian Navy base, conduct discussions, professional seminars, joint training, and friendly sports matches with the Indonesian naval forces counterparts, and go to local Confucius Institutes and Chinese institutions for cultural exchanges and study tours.
The ship Po Lang, with hull number 86, is the first sailing training ship of the Chinese Navy. It is the first time for the ship Po Lang to visit Indonesia.
