On 4 November 2024, H.E. Wang Lutong, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia, presented the Letter of Credence to President Prabowo Subianto. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono attended.

Ambassador Wang conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm regards to President Prabowo and said that, China and Indonesia are good neighbors with traditional friendship. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is growing steadily. China will work with Indonesia to strengthen practical cooperation in all areas, so as to take the building of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future to new heights.

President Prabowo asked Wang to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping and welcomed Wang on his new post. He said that Indonesia places great importance on its relations with China. The new Government will firmly pursue a friendly policy towards China, and expand practical cooperation in all fields for further development in bilateral relations.

Ambassador Wang Lutong arrived in Indonesia on 12 October and presented the copy of the Letter of Credence on 23 October.
