Chinese Embassy in Indonesia Participates in Women’s International Club Jakarta Charity Bazaar

From November 13 to 14, the Women’s International Club Jakarta (WIC) held its 55th Annual Charity Bazaar, attracting diplomatic missions from nearly 50 countries and hundreds of businesses. The event was inaugurated by Madam Selvi Ananda, wife of Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming. Minister Zhou Kan from the Chinese Embassy and his wife Madam Wang Junchun, attended the opening ceremony upon invitation. The Embassy set up a booth at the Bazaar.

Madam Selvi visited the Chinese booth and expressed appreciation to the Embassy for its contribution to the success of the event and to charity causes in Indonesia. Minister Zhou and his wife introduced her to a variety of Chinese high-tech products and distinctive cultural items. Madam Selvi and her entourage purchased items such as brooches, embroidered handbags and tea sets.

During the event, female diplomats from the Chinese Embassy performed a traditional Chinese dance, showcasing the elegance and strength of Chinese women and adding vibrancy to the occasion.

The bazaar had a lively atmosphere, with visitors bustling throughout. The Chinese Embassy’s booth was decorated with a backdrop themed Chinese culture, landscapes, red lanterns and couplets. Alongside a rich array of traditional Chinese cultural items, Chinese companies, including Huawei and Midea, displayed their latest technology products. All the items were warmly received and purchased by local attendees and diplomats from various countries.

Proceeds from the Chinese Embassy’s booth will be donated to the WIC to support social welfare and educational initiatives in Indonesia.
