On December 6, the Handover Ceremony of China-aid Anti-Narcotics Inspection Devices to Indonesia was held in Jakarta. Ambassador Wang Lutong attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. The ceremony was attended by more than 80 people, including Mr. Marthinus Hukom, Head of the National Narcotics Board (BNN) of Indonesia, along with relevant officials, representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, as well as the representatives from enterprises and media of both countries.
In his speech, Ambassador Wang Lutong emphasized that Drug abuse and trafficking are a shared menace to human society. He said that during President Prabowo’s visit to China, the two sides issued a Joint Statement, stating their commitment to jointly combat transnational crimes such as drug manufacturing and trafficking. The successful handover of Anti-Narcotics Inspection Devices is a tangible step toward implementing the consensus reached by the two Presidents. It also underscores the shared resolve of China and Indonesia to address global challenges through partnership and cooperation. We are confident that these devices will enhance Indonesia’s capacity to prevent and combat drug-related crimes, safeguard the well-being of its people, maintain social stability, and effectively fight crime.
Marthinus sincerely thanked the Chinese side for its selfless assistance and expressed hope to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of drug control.
