On January 13, Ambassador Wang Lutong met with Mrs. Maniza Zaman, the UNICEF Representative in Indonesia, to discuss the China-UNICEF cooperation on Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal program.

Ambassador Wang noted that in December 2024, the China International Development Cooperation Agency and the UNICEF China Office signed the “Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and UNICEF on Food Supplementation and School Feeding Programme in Indonesia”. This is the first cash-based aid project jointly implemented by the Chinese government and UNICEF in Indonesia. It also represents a key element of China’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s free nutritional meal program, as outlined in the “Joint Statement on Promoting Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Building a China-Indonesia Community of Shared Future” between the two countries. Ambassador Wang emphasized that China has always been a staunch supporter of the United Nations and that the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia will work with the UNICEF Indonesia Office to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

Mrs. Maniza Zaman expressed her gratitude to the Chinese government for its support and hoped that the two sides would further strengthen communication and explore more opportunities for cooperation in the future.
