From February 24th to 26th, Mr. Zhen Wangda, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, led a working group on a visit to Padang City, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The group met with Mr. Maigus Nasir, the Deputy Mayor of Padang, and Mr. Ganefri, the Chairman of the West Sumatra Branch of the Nahdlatul Ulama. They also visited Padang State University and held discussions with the university's leadership, including Rector Krismadinata, as well as with scholars and experts. Additionally, the group visited the editors-in-chief of local media outlets and the Chinese community in Padang. Counselor Zhen Wangda also gave a written interview to "Harian Singgalang," where he introduced the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and discussed the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Indonesia, as well as the practical cooperation in various fields.
During the visit, the working group inspected the dormitory building project and supporting public health facilities at the PPMTI Batang Kabung Islamic Boarding School, which were constructed with Chinese aid. They attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the project's completion and were interviewed by local media, including the West Sumatra branch of the Indonesian National Television (TVRI).
