On April 21, Ambassador Wang Lutong attended and addressed the Defense Industry Forum cohosted by the Indonesian Innovation Research Agency(BRIN) and the Ministry of Defens. H.E.Handoko, Director General of Indonesian Innovation Research Agency Handoko and H.E. Donny, Deputy Defense Minister also attended the event.
In his speech, Ambassador Wang emphasized that China always attaches great importance to national defense industry and related science and technology. China’s national defense industrial system has evolved for decades, and built an advanced three-in-one system, namely “Research and Development—Equipment Production—Institutional Environment”, forming a complete industrial chain covering six strategic industries such as nuclear, aerospace, aviation, ships, weapons, and electronics. It has deeply integrated into the national military-civilian integration strategy.
Ambassador Wang pointed out that in recent years, China and Indonesia have delivered fruitful results in the fields of science, technology and defense industry. In July 2023, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Indonesian National Innovation Research Agency signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on Science and Technology Cooperation” and reached a series of consensus on the establishment of a joint biotechnology laboratory, a joint research center for high-speed rail technology, and a research center for port construction and disaster prevention. China’s defense industry is committed to creating new competitive advantages with technology, capabilities, quality, standards and services as the core, to meet the systematic, personalized and customized needs of Indonesian users, so as to facilitate faster modernization of Indonesia’s national defense and military.
