On January 5, the "Science" scientific research vessel carrying out the comprehensive study voyage of "Maintaining and Upgrading of Subsurface Moorings Network in the western Pacific Ocean" called at Port of Bitung in Indonesia for replenishment after the successful completion of the first leg of the mission. Entrusted by H.E. Xiao Qian, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Pan Yonglu, counselor led staff of relevant departments to welcome “science” scientific research vessel at Port of Bitung, expressed gratitude to and encouraged all expedition members and crew members.

On behalf of Ambassador Xiao Qian and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Counselor Pan Yonglu extended warm congratulations to all the expedition and crew members who won the phased victory in the "large-scale real-time escalation of the Western Pacific Scientific Observer Network" and encouraged them to continue their efforts on overcoming difficulties and successfully complete the next phase of the expedition task. Counselor Pan and his entourage listened to the introduction of "Science" vessel and the voyage scientific research mission, exchanged views with the expedition team, and visited the "Science" test vessel.

Counselor Pan Yonglu and his entourage also visited Port of Bitung and conducted work exchanges with leaders of Port Authority over the same period.
