Ambassador Xiao Qian Meets with Prof. Mohamad Nasir, Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education

On November 5, Ambassador Xiao Qian met with Prof. Mohamad Nasir, Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (RISTEK DIKTI). The two sides exchanged views on science, technology, innovation (STI) and higher education cooperation between the two countries. Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, Director General of Research Strengthening and Development, Mr. Hari Purwanto, Senior Advisor to the Minister for Infrastructure and Mr. Abdul Wahid Maktub, Special Advisor to the Minister attended the meeting.

Ambassador Xiao Qian said, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo, the China-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has made remarkable progress. A solid foundation has been laid for bilateral cooperation in STI and higher education and the potential for cooperation is huge. China is ready to further improve cooperation mechanism and explore new cooperation areas on STI and higher education with Indonesia, so as to make it a highlight in the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Nasir spoke highly of the recent progress in bilateral STI and higher education cooperation. He expressed the readiness to continuously explore and promote cooperation in areas such as high speed railway technology, professional training and higher education, so that the cooperation can be translated into more benefits to the two peoples.
