Xi Jinping Holds Phone Talks with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia

On June 23, 2015, President Xi Jinping held phone talks with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia upon request.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Indonesia are good friends and good partners who treat each other with sincerity. The initiative of building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road put forward by China highly tallies with the development plan of Global Maritime Fulcrum forged by Indonesia. We both agree to accelerate the docking between respective development strategies and clarify the preferential economic and trade cooperation projects as soon as possible so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win result. China is ready to enhance cooperation in such areas as production capacity, electricity, steel, shipbuilding, construction materials, photovoltaic industry and finance. China is fully confident about Indonesia's development potential and prospect and is ready to expand its investment in Indonesia.

Joko Widodo expressed that Indonesia pays high attention to developing its relations with China. He has held many meetings with President Xi Jinping and reached important consensus with Xi Jinping on developing the bilateral relations. He is glad that the relevant departments of the two governments are working together to implement these consensus in an orderly way. Indonesia, which is now in a crucial stage of development, looks forward to further enhancing cooperation in various fields with China.
