1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 12 March, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 8 confirmed cases;

b) 7 fatal cases (6 in Hubei and 1 in Shandong);

c) 33 suspected cases;

d) 1,318 cured and discharged cases;

e) 2,483 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 237 fewer severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 12 March, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 13,526 confirmed cases (including 4,020 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 64,111 cured and discharged cases;

c) 3,176 fatal cases;

d) 80,813 confirmed cases;

e) 147 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 678,088 close contacts traced (including 12,161 still under medical observation).

3. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 12 March, the following were newly reported by Hubei:

a) 5 confirmed cases (all in Wuhan);

b) 1,255 cured and discharged cases (including 1,103 in Wuhan);

c) 6 fatal cases (all in Wuhan); and

d) 1 suspected case (in Wuhan).

As of 24:00, 12 March, Hubei had reported:

a) 13,171 confirmed cases (including 12,358 in Wuhan) still under treatment;

b) 3,948 severe cases (including 3,793 in Wuhan);

c) 51,553 cured and discharged cases (including 35,197 in Wuhan);

d) 3,062 fatal cases (including 2,436 in Wuhan);

e) 67,786 confirmed cases (including 49,991 in Wuhan); and

f) 49 suspected cases (including 44 in Wuhan) pending test results.

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 12 March, 3 imported confirmed cases were newly reported (2 in Shanghai and 1 in Beijing). As of 24:00, 12 March, 88 imported confirmed cases had been reported.

5. As of 24:00, 12 March, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 190 confirmed cases:

a) 131 (including 75 discharged cases and 3 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;

b) 10 (all discharged) in the Macao SAR; and

c) 49 (including 20 discharged cases and 1 fatal case) in the Taiwan region.

Note: the number of nationwide confirmed cases still is revised up by 12 upon verification.
