1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 17 April, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 27 confirmed cases (17 imported, and 10 local cases, i.e. 7 in Heilongjiang, 2 in Guangdong and 1 in Sichuan);

b) no fatal cases;

c) 5 suspected cases (all imported, 3 in Shanghai and 2 in Heilongjiang);

d) 50 cured and discharged cases;

e) 986 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 4 fewer severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 17 April, among all the imported cases, 857 confirmed cases (including 47 severe cases) are still under treatment and 58 suspected cases are pending test results. In total, 1,566 imported cases had been confirmed, 709 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 17 April, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 1,058 confirmed cases (including 85 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 77,029 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,632 fatal cases;

d) 82,719 confirmed cases;

e) 63 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 723,835 close contacts traced (including 8,893 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 17 April, the following were newly reported by Hubei:

a) no confirmed cases;

b) 7 cured and discharged cases (all in Wuhan);

c) no fatal cases; and

d) no suspected cases.

As of 24:00, 17 April, Hubei had reported:

a) 122 confirmed cases still under treatment (all in Wuhan);

b) 27 severe cases still under treatment (all in Wuhan);

c) 63,494 cured and discharged cases (including 46,342 in Wuhan);

d) 4,512 fatal cases (including 3,869 in Wuhan);

e) 68,128 confirmed cases (including 50,333 in Wuhan); and

f) no suspected cases pending test result.

5. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 17 April, the following asymptomatic cases were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 54 new cases (3 imported);

b) 9 developed into confirmed cases (6 imported);

c) 66 cases released from medical observation (12 imported); and

d) 1,017 cases still under medical observation (191 imported).

6. As of 24:00, 17 April, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 1,461 confirmed cases:

a) 1,021 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 532 discharged cases and 4 fatal cases);

b) 45 in the Macao SAR (including 17 discharged cases); and

c) 395 in the Taiwan region (including 166 discharged cases and 6 fatal cases).
