NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 11 May, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 1 confirmed case (imported, in Inner Mongolia);

b) no fatal cases;

c) 1 suspected case (imported, in Shanghai);

d) 27 cured and discharged cases;

e) 503 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 1 more severe case.

2. As of 24:00, 11 May, among all the imported cases, 80 confirmed cases (including 3 severe cases) were still under treatment and 3 suspected cases pending test results. In total, 1,691 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,611 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 11 May, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 115 confirmed cases (including 10 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,171 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,633 fatal cases;

d) 82,919 confirmed cases;

e) 3 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 737,599 close contacts traced (including 5,470 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 11 May, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 15 new cases (no imported cases);

b) none turned into confirmed cases;

c) 35 cases released from medical observation (6 imported); and

d) 760 cases still under medical observation (38 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 11 May, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 1,532 confirmed cases:

a) 1,047 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 985 discharged cases and 4 fatal cases);

b) 45 in the Macao SAR (including 42 discharged cases); and

c) 440 in the Taiwan region (including 368 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
