Notice of the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia on Refined COVID-19 Response Measures for China-bound Travelers
 2023-02-28 16:18

In light of the overall COVID-19 situation and to facilitate the people-to-people exchanges between China and Indonesia, starting from March 1, 2023, Western Indonesia Time, travelers on direct flights from Indonesia to China can take antigen tests (including self-test kits) instead of nucleic acid tests. Those with negative results can travel to China and need to truthfully complete the customs health declaration prior to departure.

To help travelers better prepare, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia have updated the Guidelines on Epidemic Response Measures for People Traveling from Indonesia to China. Please read carefully and follow them to enjoy a smooth trip. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia advocate the idea that “everyone should act responsibly for one's own health”, and would like to kindly remind people traveling to China to earnestly monitor their own health and protect themselves against COVID-19 to ensure healthy and safe travel.

Guidelines on Epidemic Response Measures for

People Traveling from Indonesia to China

I. Pre-boarding Test: Travelers need to take nucleic acid test or self-swabbing antigen test within 48 hours prior to departure. Those who test negative can travel to China. Those who test positive need to postpone their travel until they have a negative test result.

II. Customs Declaration: Travelers need to declare negative test results to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form on the WeChat mini-program of China Customs, the China Customs APP or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn.

III. Chinese and Indonesian airlines are no longer required to check travelers' negative test results prior to departure.

IV. Self-protection on the Aircraft: Travelers need to wear masks throughout the flight and take good personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

V. Inspection upon Entry: In-bound travelers need to finish customs procedures with their health declaration code, and China Customs will conduct sampling inspection of all declarations. Inbound travelers with no issues to report in their health declaration who have been given regular customs inspection and quarantine clearance can enter China without being subject to quarantine. Those with issues to report in their health declaration or symptoms such as fever shall receive tests at the customs. Those who test positive may self-quarantine at home or place of residence or seek medical attention by following relevant instructions. Those who test negative will go through routine quarantine inspection by China Customs in accordance with the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law and other laws and regulations.

VI. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control: After entry into China, travelers from Indonesia need to strictly abide by the epidemic response protocols of the place where they stay.
