1. Background and Objectives

The Talented Young Scientist Program (TYSP hereinafter) supports talented young scientists, scholars and researchers from Afro-Asian countries to work in Chinese research institutes, universities or enterprises for one year or half an year. TYSP aims to promote communication among Afro-Asian science and technology talents, nurture young science and technology leaders, and foster long-term international cooperation among research institutes, universities and enterprises in Afro-Asian countries.

2. Requirements for Applicants

1) Foreign citizens holding the nationality of Afro-Asian countries (Japan, Singapore, Israel, and Countries in Central Asia are not included)；

2) Under the age of 45;

3) Five years of research experience or with a doctoral degree (for Korean scientists, a doctoral degree is required);

4) Fluency in English or Chinese mandarin;

5) In good state of health;

6) Undertake to work full-time in China;

7) Undertake to comply with laws, regulations and other related rules in China.

3. Financial Support

1) Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST hereinafter) will provide each scientist with RMB ¥12500 per month for accommodation, insurance and other living expenditure during the program.

2) The funding will be allocated to the Chinese host institutes.

4. How to apply

1) Indonesian applicant logs in the TYSP system (http://tysp.cstec.org.cn/en/index.aspx) and registers his/her account after filling personal information.

2) Indonesian applicant chooses his/her favorite job post, uploads Certificate of Highest Academic Qualification and Incumbency Certification.

3) The Hosting Institute selects the most appropriate candidate from all the foreign applicants, sends online "letter of consent" (both Chinese and English version, uploaded to the system) to the candidate after double-checking his/her personal information.

Note: Once the "letter of consent" is released, the personal information could not be modified any more.

4) The Indonesian candidate accepts the "letter of consent" in the system.

5) The Indonesian candidate contacts Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (RISTEK DIKTI) for the "Letter of Recommendation".

6) RISTEK DIKTI staff logs in the TYSP system (choosing "Authorized Login"), fills the online Recommendation Form, prints and stamps, then uploads the scanning form in the system.

7) The Hosting Institute reviews all the uploading materials and prints the "letter of commitment", stamps the "letter of commitment" and uploads it to the system.

8) China Science & Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) organizes comprehensive evaluation of the application materials and decides the finalists.

9) CSTEC informs the enrollment information to the Hosting Institute, RISTEK DIKTI and the finalists.

10) The Hosting Institute sends "Letter of Invitation" to the Indonesian finalists, and help the Indonesian finalists go through related procedures to apply for Work Permit in China.
