Ambassador Wang Lutong Attends Opening Ceremony of Calligraphy, Painting and Photo Exhibition Celebrating 75th Anniversary of China-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations

On August 9, the opening ceremony of the China-Indonesia Calligraphy, Painting and Photo Exhibition themed "As High as Mountains and as Long as Rivers, We Share Weal and Woe" was held in Jakarta. The exhibition commemorates the 75th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations, the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, and the 620th anniversary of Zheng He’s first voyage to the Western Seas. Ambassador Wang Lutong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Indonesian H.E. Giring Ganesha Vice Minister of Culture, and Prof. Asep Saefuddin Rector of Al Azhar University also attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Counsellor Mr. Ma Gang and Counsellor Mr. Wang Siping of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia were present.

In his address, Ambassador Ambassador Wang Lutong Wang Lutong stated that China-Indonesia cooperation has yielded fruitful results across various fields, and bilateral relations are at their best period in history. The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, and the 620th anniversary of Zheng He’s first voyage to the Western Seas. These three significant historical milestones shine together, bearing witness to the enduring and profound friendship between the peoples of China and Indonesia, and highlighting the bilateral relations characterized by 'As High as Mountains and as Long as Rivers, We Share Weal and Woe' throughout history."

The exhibition is co-organized by the Indonesian Calligraphy and Painting Academy and the Confucius Institute at Al Azhar University. It features over 200 artworks from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Brazil, and Argentina. The exhibited works will tour Confucius Institutes across Indonesia.
