Ambassador Wang Lutong attends the Hainan Airlines direct flight launch and airport reception ceremony

On September 26, the inaugural direct flight from Haikou, China to Jakarta, along with an airport reception ceremony, was held at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Ambassador Wang Lutong, Wisnu Tourism Marketing Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, and Chairman Zhu Tao of Hainan Airlines  attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Immigration Bureau, Civil Aviation Authority, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport also attended the ceremony. Counselor Chen Wu of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia was present.

In his speech, Ambassador Wang Lutong pointed out, that under the strategic guidance of the two presidents, China-Indonesia relations have developed healthily and steadily. People-to-people and cultural exchanges are an important part of the "five pillars" cooperation between the two countries. China is Indonesia's third-largest source of tourists, and Indonesia is one of the main overseas destinations for Chinese tourists. The two countries will soon launch direct flights such as Hainan Airlines' Haikou to Jakarta, Xiamen Airlines' Hangzhou to Jakarta, and the addition of Xiamen Airlines' Chongqing to Jakarta. This will bring more convenience to humanitarian aid and further promote tourism and cultural exchanges between the two sides.

Hainan Airlines now operates four direct flights per week from Haikou to Jakarta. Xiamen Airlines operates four flights per week from Chongqing to Jakarta, and three flights per week from Hangzhou to Jakarta. This brings the total number of direct flights between China and Indonesia to 264 per week.
